ECA Statement 1st of May 2025

We salute the workers, youth, women and pensioners of Europe and the world. We honour the bloody uprising in Chicago and the heroic struggles of our class and draw inspiration from them for our struggle today.

With clear intensity, the last year has shown the full brutality and savagery of the imperialist system. Wars, famines and poverty haunt the working people of the world, making their situation all the more precarious. With their own eyes, the workers can observe the dangerous development and sharpening contradictions that constitute real threats to their lives and livelihoods. The barbarity of capitalism is laid bare for all to see.

Within the imperialist system, contradictions are sharpening, as all capitalist powers vie for more profits for their own monopolies at the expense of their rivals. Their old alliances, which were thought of as permanent, are shown to be fragile as powerful countries reposition themselves. Under capitalism, no bond is stronger than the potential profit that is to be made.

The logical conclusion, to which the increased competition will lead, is war. When all other means fail, force is used in the capitalist competition to gain advantages and strike against competitors. The outbreak of a new capitalist crisis and the risk of a generalized capitalist war loom on the horizon, threatening the lives of millions and millions of working people all over the world.

In answer to this development, the capitalist countries of the world are arming themselves to the teeth, readying themselves for a struggle. To justify this, the ideology of nationalism is utilized among other things, giving the workers the illusion that they share interests with the capitalists of their own nationality.

Parallel to this development, political repression mounts. In country after country, political rights are repealed with the purpose of obstructing the political and trade union activity of the working class. In country after country, funds are redirected from the needs of the people to the repressive apparatus of the capitalist state, which is then unleashed upon those who refuse to accept this development.

In this situation, the role of social democracy remains a particularly deceptive enemy. Throughout the history of the labor movement, social democracy has acted to guarantee capitalism the social support it needs, and as communists, one of our most important tasks remains to unmask the role that social democracy has played historically, as well as today.

All obstacles seem great, until they are surmounted. This is true of capitalism as well. Over a century ago, the working people of Russia broke the ice and showed the way forward, the socialist society. Exactly 80 years ago, the Soviet and European peoples stopped what briefly seemed unstoppable and, through their struggle, achieved victory over fascism. Again and again, the working people have defied the developments of capitalism, and it has shown that it carries the new world on its shoulders.

The way forward is clear to us and we do not stop at remedying some of the ills created by capitalism, but we aim to remove the ill that is capitalism. Carried forward by the strength and activity of the working people of the world, we are certain that we will and that we must bring the new world, the socialist world, to fruition.

In the form of a generalized imperialist war and the impoverishment of the peoples, darkness looms menacingly on the horizon, but remembering that darkness is nothing but stolen light, we continue forwards, honouring those that came before us and laying the groundwork for those who will come after us.

Declaración de la ACE del 1º de mayo de 2025

 

Saludamos a los trabajadores, jóvenes, mujeres y pensionistas de Europa y el mundo. Honramos a la revuelta sangrienta en Chicago y a las luchas heroicas de nuestra clase y nos inspiramos en ellas para nuestra lucha hoy.

Con clara intensidad, el último año ha mostrado toda la brutalidad y salvajismo del sistema imperialista. Guerras, hambrunas y pobreza persiguen al pueblo trabajador del mundo, volviendo su situación aún más precaria. Los trabajadores pueden observar con sus propios ojos el peligroso desarrollo y agudización de las contradicciones que constituyen una amenaza real para sus vidas y su subsistencia. La barbaridad del capitalismo yace desnuda para que todos la veamos.

En el seno del sistema imperialista se agudizan las contradicciones, ya que todas las potencias capitalistas luchan por mayores beneficios para sus propios monopolios a costa de sus rivales. Sus viejas alianzas, que se creía que eran permanentes, se muestran frágiles puesto que los países poderosos se vuelven a posicionar. En el capitalismo, ningún lazo es más fuerte que el beneficio potencial que se pueda hacer.

La conclusión lógica a la que conduce el aumento de la competencia es la guerra. Cuando fracasan los demás medios, la fuerza es utilizada en la competencia capitalista para conseguir ventajas y golpear a la competencia. En el horizonte se avecinan el estallido de una nueva crisis capitalista y el riesgo de una guerra capitalista generalizada, que amenazan las vidas de muchos millones de trabajadores de todo el mundo.

En respuesta a este suceso, los países capitalistas del mundo se están armando hasta los dientes, preparándose para una lucha. Para justificar todo esto, se utiliza entre otras cosas la ideología del nacionalismo, dando a los trabajadores la ilusión de que comparten intereses con los capitalistas de su misma nacionalidad.

En paralelo, aumenta la represión política. En un país tras otro, se derogan los derechos políticos con el fin de obstruir la actividad política y sindical de la clase obrera. En un país tras otro, los fondos pasan de destinarse a las necesidades de las personas a destinarse al aparato represivo del estado capitalista, que se desata entonces contra los que se niegan a aceptar este suceso.

En esta situación, el papel de la socialdemocracia sigue siendo un enemigo especialmente engañoso. A lo largo de la historia del movimiento obrero, la socialdemocracia ha actuado para garantizarle al capitalismo el apoyo social que necesita y, como comunistas, una de nuestras tareas más importantes sigue siendo desenmascarar el papel que la socialdemocracia ha desempeñado tanto históricamente como hoy.

Todos los obstáculos parecen grandes hasta que son superados. Eso también es verdad para el capitalismo. Hace más de un siglo, el pueblo trabajador de Rusia rompió el huelo y mostró el camino a seguir, la sociedad socialista. Hace exactamente 80 años, los pueblos soviéticos y europeos detuvieron lo que poco antes parecía imparable y, con su lucha, consiguieron la victoria sobre el fascismo. Una y otra vez, el pueblo trabajador ha desafiado los acontecimientos del capitalismo y ha mostrado que lleva el nuevo mundo sobre sus hombros.

El camino a seguir es claro para nosotros y no nos paramos a remediar algunas de las enfermedades que el capitalismo ha creado, sino que aspiramos a eliminar la enfermedad que es el capitalismo. Impulsados por la fuerza y la actividad de los pueblos trabajadores del mundo, estamos seguros de que llevaremos —y debemos llevar— el nuevo mundo, el mundo socialista, a buen puerto.

En la forma de una guerra imperialista generalizada y el empobrecimiento de los pueblos, la oscuridad se aproxima amenazante en el horizonte pero, al recordar que la oscuridad no es más que luz robada, seguimos adelante, honrando a quienes vinieron antes que nosotros y allanando el camino a quienes vengan después.

Χαιρετίζουμε τους εργάτες, τις εργάτριες, τους νέους και τις νέες, τις γυναίκες, τους συνταξιούχους, στην Ευρώπη και σε όλο τον κόσμο. Τιμούμε και εμπνεόμαστε για τη σημερινή πάλη μας από την αιματοβαμμένη εξέγερση στο Σικάγο, τους ηρωικούς αγώνες της τάξης μας.

Με σαφή ένταση, ο τελευταίος χρόνος έδειξε την πλήρη βιαιότητα και αγριότητα του ιμπεριαλιστικού συστήματος. Οι πόλεμοι, οι λιμοί και η φτώχεια στοιχειώνουν τους εργαζόμενους του κόσμου, καθιστώντας την κατάστασή τους ακόμα πιο επισφαλή. Με τα ίδια τους τα μάτια, οι εργαζόμενοι μπορούν να παρατηρήσουν την επικίνδυνη εξέλιξη και την όξυνση των αντιθέσεων που αποτελούν πραγματικές απειλές για τη ζωή και τα προς το ζην. Η βαρβαρότητα του καπιταλισμού αποκαλύπτεται σε όλους.

Μέσα στο ιμπεριαλιστικό σύστημα, οι αντιθέσεις οξύνονται, καθώς όλες οι καπιταλιστικές δυνάμεις ανταγωνίζονται για περισσότερα κέρδη για τα δικά τους μονοπώλια σε βάρος των ανταγωνιστών τους. Οι παλιές τους συμμαχίες, που θεωρούνταν μόνιμες, αποδεικνύονται εύθραυστες, καθώς οι ισχυρές χώρες επαναπροσδιορίζουν τη θέση τους. Στον καπιταλισμό, κανένας δεσμός δεν είναι ισχυρότερος από αυτόν που υπαγορεύει το κέρδος που απομυζούν οι καπιταλιστές.

Το λογικό συμπέρασμα, στο οποίο θα οδηγήσει ο αυξημένος ανταγωνισμός, είναι ο πόλεμος. Όταν όλα τα άλλα μέσα αποτυγχάνουν, χρησιμοποιείται η βία για την απόκτηση πλεονεκτήματος στον καπιταλιστικό ανταγωνισμό και για να χτυπηθούν οι ανταγωνιστές. Το ξέσπασμα μίας νέας καπιταλιστικής κρίσης, ο κίνδυνος ενός γενικευμένου καπιταλιστικού πολέμου διαφαίνεται στον ορίζοντα, απειλώντας τις ζωές εκατομμυρίων εργαζομένων σε όλο τον κόσμο.

Ως απάντηση σε αυτή την εξέλιξη, οι καπιταλιστικές χώρες εξοπλίζονται μέχρι τα δόντια, προετοιμαζόμενες για πολεμική αναμέτρηση. Για να δικαιολογηθεί αυτή η πολεμική προετοιμασία, χρησιμοποιείται ανάμεσα σε άλλα κι η ιδεολογία του εθνικισμού, δίνοντας στους εργαζόμενους την ψευδαίσθηση ότι έχουν κοινά συμφέροντα με τους καπιταλιστές της δικής τους εθνικότητας.

Παράλληλα με αυτή την εξέλιξη, η πολιτική καταστολής αυξάνεται. Στη μία χώρα μετά την άλλη, τα πολιτικά δικαιώματα καταργούνται με σκοπό την παρεμπόδιση της πολιτικής και συνδικαλιστικής δραστηριότητας της εργατικής τάξης. Στη μία χώρα μετά την άλλη, κονδύλια ανακατευθύνονται από τις ανάγκες του λαού στον κατασταλτικό μηχανισμό του καπιταλιστικού κράτους, ο οποίος στη συνέχεια εξαπολύεται εναντίον όσων αρνούνται να αποδεχτούν αυτή την εξέλιξη.

Σε αυτή την κατάσταση, ο ρόλος της σοσιαλδημοκρατίας παραμένει ένας ιδιαίτερα δόλιος εχθρός. Καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της ιστορίας του εργατικού κινήματος, η σοσιαλδημοκρατία έδρασε για να εγγυηθεί στον καπιταλισμό την κοινωνική υποστήριξη που χρειάζεται, και ως κομμουνιστές, ένα από τα σημαντικότερα καθήκοντά μας παραμένει να ξεσκεπάσουμε το ρόλο που έχει παίξει η σοσιαλδημοκρατία ιστορικά, καθώς και σήμερα.

Όλα τα εμπόδια φαίνονται μεγάλα, μέχρι να ξεπεραστούν. Αυτό ισχύει και για τον καπιταλισμό. Πάνω από έναν αιώνα πριν, οι εργαζόμενοι της Ρωσίας έσπασαν τον πάγο και χάραξαν το δρόμο προς τα εμπρός, στη σοσιαλιστική κοινωνία. Ακριβώς πριν από 80 χρόνια, ο σοβιετικός και οι ευρωπαϊκοί λαοί σταμάτησαν αυτό που για λίγο φάνταζε ασταμάτητο και με την πάλη τους οδήγησαν στη νίκη εναντίον του φασισμού. Ξανά και ξανά, οι εργαζόμενοι αψήφησαν τις εξελίξεις του καπιταλισμού και έδειξαν ότι κουβαλούν το νέο κόσμο στους ώμους τους.

Ο δρόμος προς τα εμπρός είναι ξεκάθαρος για εμάς και δεν σταματάμε μόνο στη διόρθωση ορισμένων δεινών που δημιουργεί ο καπιταλισμός, αλλά στοχεύουμε στην εξάλειψη του ιού που είναι ο καπιταλισμός. Με την ώθηση από τη δύναμη και τη δραστηριότητα των εργαζομένων του κόσμου, είμαστε σίγουροι ότι θα φέρουμε αυτό που είναι αναγκαίο, το νέο κόσμο, το σοσιαλιστικό κόσμο.

Με τη μορφή ενός γενικευμένου ιμπεριαλιστικού πολέμου και της εξαθλίωσης των λαών, το σκοτάδι διαφαίνεται απειλητικά στον ορίζοντα, αλλά θυμόμαστε ότι το σκοτάδι δεν είναι τίποτα άλλο παρά κλεμμένο φως, και συνεχίζουμε προς τα εμπρός, τιμώντας εκείνους που ήρθαν πριν από εμάς και θέτοντας τις βάσεις για εκείνους που θα έρθουν μετά από εμάς.
