ECA statement on the 66th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

Τhe European Communist Action salutes the heroic Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban revolution, the first socialist revolution in the Americas, which is an inspiration and shining example for the working peoples of the world that, through their struggle, they have the power to overthrow capitalist barbarity.

Since the overthrow of the Batista tyranny, the route taken by Cuban revolutionaries has not been an easy one; they stood up against imperialism, repelled invasions, survived imperialist interventions and attacks and resisted the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years. The determined and long-standing resistance of the Cuban people is a response to the barbaric aggression against Cuba, with the inclusion of the country in the US’ unacceptable and arbitrary list of “states sponsoring terrorism” among others.

Despite the imperialist efforts to suffocate the island, the firm decision that the Cuban people have made with the revolution and the course of socialist construction have led them to achievements in important aspects of their lives, including health, education, science, culture and sports.

Despite limited resources, Cuba has not hesitated to extend its fraternal hand and put its medical and educational achievements at the service of peoples as an example of internationalism.

Loyal to the historical legacy of Fidel, the Communist Party of Cuba is today faced with serious adversities.

The European Communist Action, like the overwhelming majority of the peoples of the world, firmly stands with the Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba and calls for the intensification of the struggle for the unconditional lifting of the barbaric US blockade and inclusion of the country in the arbitrary list of “states sponsoring terrorism”.

The European Communist Action strongly rejects any subversive plans and manipulative social network and the mass media campaigns that are aimed at intervening in Cuba’s internal affairs, destabilizing its political system and undermining its and sovereignty.

The European Communist Action declares its determination to further strengthen the bonds of solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban revolution, the experience of which can and should be utilized to defend history and the

contribution of the communist movement, to strengthen proletarian internationalism and the struggle for socialism.

Declaración de la ACE por el 66º aniversario de la Revolución Cubana

 

La Acción Comunista Europea saluda al heroico pueblo cubano y el PartiDdo Comunista de Cuba con motivo del 66º aniversario del triunfo de la revolución cubana, la primera revolución socialista en América, que es una inspiración y un brillante ejemplo para los pueblos trabajadores del mundo que, mediante su lucha, tienen el poder de derrocar la barbarie capitalista.

Desde el derrocamiento de la tiranía de Batista, el camino elegido por los revolucionarios cubanos no ha sido fácil; se alzaron contra el imperialismo, repelieron invasiones, sobrevivieron a intervenciones y ataques imperialistas y resistieron el criminal bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero impuesto por Estados Unidos durante más de 60 años. La resistencia decidida y duradera del pueblo cubano es una respuesta a la bárbara agresión contra Cuba, con la inclusión del país en la lista inaceptable y arbitraria de EE.UU. de “países patrocinadores del terrorismo”, entre otras.

Pese a los esfuerzos del imperialismo de ahogar a la isla, la firme decisión que ha tomado el pueblo cubano con la revolución y el rumbo de la construcción socialista le ha llevado a logros en aspectos importantes de su vida, incluyendo la sanidad, la educación, la ciencia, la cultura y el deporte.

Pese a los recursos limitados, Cuba no ha dudado en extender su mano fraterna y poner sus logros médicos y educativos al servicio de los pueblos como ejemplo de internacionalismo.

Leal al legado histórico de Fidel, el Partido Comunista de Cuba hoy se enfrenta a graves adversidades.

La Acción Comunista Europea, al igual que la inmensa mayoría de pueblos del mundo, apoya firmemente al pueblo cubano y el Partido Comunista de Cuba y llama a la intensificación de la lucha por la retirada incondicional del bárbaro bloqueo estadounidense y la inclusión del país en la lista arbitraria de “estados patrocinadores del terrorismo”.

La Acción Comunista Europea rechaza con firmeza cualquier plan subversivo, red social manipuladora y las campañas en medios de comunicación que pretenden intervenir en los asuntos internos de Cuba, desestabilizando su sistema político y menoscabando su soberanía.

La Acción Comunista Europea declara su determinación de fortalecer aún más los lazos de solidaridad con Cuba y la revolución cubana, cuya experiencia puede y debe utilizarse para defender la historia y la contribución del movimiento comunista, para fortalecer el internacionalismo proletario y la lucha por el socialismo.
