ECA statement on the 67th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

On 1 January 2026, the Cuban people will celebrate the 67 th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution. With the overthrow of the Batista dictatorship in 1959 and the triumphant entry of the revolutionary forces into Havana, the Cuban people initiated a historic break with exploitation, dependence and imperialist foreign rule. The Cuban Revolution was the first socialist revolution on the American continent and a milestone in the international class struggle.

For almost seven decades now, socialist Cuba has been proving, under extremely difficult conditions, the superiority of a system that can put people and their needs at the centre.

Despite imperialist aggression, invasion attempts, subversive campaigns, terrorist attacks and the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States, which has been in place for over 60 years, Cuba has achieved significant progress in the areas
of health, education, science, culture and sport. These achievements are an expression of the creative power of the Cuban people, the revolutionary power of the working class and the scientific basis of Marxism–Leninism.

The Cuban Revolution has shown that capitalism is not invincible and that the organised, conscious and militant working class has the power to overthrow the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie and take control of its own social development. Cuba thus stands not only for
the historic revolutionary choice made by the Cuban people but also for proletarian internationalism. Despite limited resources, the country has repeatedly placed its medical, educational and scientific capabilities at the service of other peoples, thus providing a living example of international solidarity in action.

Today, Cuba continues to be the target of imperialist attacks, economic blackmail and attempts at political destabilisation – not only by the United States, but also by the European Union and its allies. The inclusion of Cuba in arbitrary and politically motivated sanctions and terror lists, as well as manipulative media campaigns, are aimed at undermining the country's sovereignty and bringing down socialism. The determined resistance of the Cuban people and their Communist Party is a clear response to these aggressions.

The 67th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution is therefore also a political mandate. It commits us to strengthening international solidarity, to consistently fighting against the imperialist blockade and to defending socialism. The experience of the Cuban Revolution
can and must be utilized to defend the history and contribution of the communist movement, to strengthen proletarian internationalism, and to defend the principles of socialist construction.

Declaración de la ACE sobre el 67º aniversario de la Revolución Cubana

 

El 1 de enero de 2026 el pueblo cubano celebrará el 67º aniversario de la victoria de la Revolución Cubana. Con el derrocamiento de la dictadura de Batista en 1959 y la entrada triunfante de las fuerzas revolucionarias en La Habana, el pueblo cubano inició una ruptura histórica con la explotación, la dependencia y el dominio imperialista extranjero. La Revolución Cubana fue la primera revolución socialista en el continente americano y un hito en la lucha de clases internacional.

Durante casi siete décadas, la Cuba socialista ha demostrado en condiciones extremadamente difíciles la superioridad de un sistema que puede situar a las personas y sus necesidades en el centro. Pese a la agresión imperialista, los intentos de invasión, las campañas de subversión, los atentados terroristas y el criminal bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero de Estados Unidos, que ha tenido lugar durante más de 60 años, Cuba ha conseguido un progreso importante en las áreas de la sanidad, la educación, la ciencia, la cultura y el deporte. Estos logros son la expresión del poder creativo del pueblo cubano, el poder revolucionario de la clase obrera y la base científica del marxismo-leninismo.

La Revolución Cubana ha mostrado que el capitalismo no es invencible y que la clase obrera organizada, concienciada y militante tiene el poder para derrocar la dictadura de la burguesía y tomar el control de su propio desarrollo social. Cuba se mantiene así no solo a favor de la elección revolucionaria histórica hecha por el pueblo cubano, sino también a favor del internacionalismo proletario. A pesar de los recursos limitados, el país ha puesto sus capacidades médicas, educativas y científicas reiteradamente al servicio de otros pueblos, proporcionando así un ejemplo vivo de solidaridad internacional en acción.

Hoy, Cuba sigue siendo blanco de los ataques imperialistas, el chantaje económico y los intentos de desestabilización política, no solo por parte de Estados Unidos, sino también de la Unión Europea y sus aliados. La inclusión de Cuba en sanciones arbitrarias y con motivación política y en listas del terror, así como las manipuladores campañas mediáticas, aspiran a menoscabar la soberanía del país y derribar el socialismo. La resistencia decidida del pueblo cubano y el Partido Comunista es una respuesta clara a estas agresiones.

El 67º aniversario de la Revolución Cubana es por lo tanto también un mandato político, que nos compromete a fortalecer la solidaridad internacional, a combatir consistentemente contra el bloqueo imperialista y a defender el socialismo. La experiencia de la Revolución Cubana puede y debe ser utilizada para defender la historia y contribución del movimiento comunista, para fortalecer el internacionalismo proletario y para defender los principios de la construcción socialista.
