ECA statement on the 81st anniversary of the Great Anti-fascist Victory of the Peoples

On this day, 81 years ago, Nazi Germany capitulated to the socialist Soviet Union. The victory of socialism over the most brutal expression of capitalism was a fact. As we have done all previous years, we honour all the millions who gave their lives to achieve this goal, all those who became martyrs in the anti-fascist struggle. We never forget.

The victory over fascism, achieved through the efforts of the national liberation movements and the invaluable contribution of the Soviet Union and the heroic Red Army, which raised the red flag bearing the hammer and sickle over the Reichstag, in Berlin is a milestone in the history of the peoples and socialism. Despite the murder of millions of people, the unimaginable destruction, and the pillaging of entire countries, the popular masses could achieve victory in the end. They showed us that capitalism could not withstand the supremacy of socialism, the determination and will of the people, not even capitalism in its most brutal form, that of fascism.

On the 9th of May, every working person, every soldier, every partisan and every anti-fascist showed that the victory over fascism and the very system that gives rise to it, capitalism, was possible - and that it will always be possible. We raise our fists even higher in honour of their struggle.

This great historical epic cannot be distorted or misrepresented by the EU, bourgeois governments and their staffs, or by their wretched anti-communist sermons and resolutions, which futilely seek to designate 9 May as so-called “EU Day” and to equate communism with the monster of fascism. Nor, of course, can it be used to justify the imperialist war in Ukraine or to absolve the bourgeois classes involved in the war.

Despite the sacrifices that the peoples made in the struggle against Nazism they did not manage to smash it once and for all. In too few countries could this struggle lead to the overthrow of the capitalist system and socialism, with the contribution of the Red Army.

Armed with historical experience, the struggle currently being waged by the communist parties of the ECA in their respective countries is promising.

We see the same contradictions and rivalries sharpening in our times, as drew the world into the imperialist war that was just only on the part of the Soviet Union and finished on the 9th of May. On the shoulders of those who came before us, we therefore continue to struggle towards the same goals as they.

Our world is characterized by sharp contradictions, by a sharp struggle that grows from the very nature of the capitalist system. The endless expansion of every bourgeois class  in a finite world allows us to glimpse the catastrophe that might await and lets us understand the imperialist wars that now rage for supremacy in the imperialist system.

We struggle against Nazism and fascism; and to crush it once and for all, we must overthrow capitalism which gives rise to it. The struggle against fascism can never be separate from the struggle for socialism.

The intensification of imperialist contradictions is also impacting bourgeois politics and governments, where reactionary and openly fascist forces are gaining ground in a context of widespread impoverishment of the working class. Recognising that fascism fulfilled a specific historical role—as a brutal response of the bourgeoisie at a moment of advancing class struggle—Communist Parties must strengthen their work within mass fronts in order to build a class-oriented opposition capable of linking the question of imperialist war, fascism, and the seizure of power.

On this day, 81 years ago, fascism and Nazism was defeated, albeit not conclusively. This task awaits us. With the lessons gained through the struggles of the past we meet our future. We will finish what the victory 81 years ago did not finish - and those who gave their lives will show us the way.

Declaración de la ACE sobre el 81º aniversario de la Gran Victoria Antifascista de los Pueblos

9 de mayo – La victoria del socialismo ante el fascismo

En este día, hace 81 años, la Alemania nazi capituló ante la Unión Soviética socialista. La victoria del socialismo ante la expresión más brutal del capitalismo era un hecho. Como hemos hecho los años anteriores, honramos a todos los millones que dieron su vida para conseguir tal fin, a todos los que se convirtieron en mártires de la lucha antifascista. Nunca olvidamos.

La victoria ante el fascismo, conseguida a través de los esfuerzos de los movimientos de liberación nacional y la valiosa contribución de la Unión Soviética y el heroico Ejército Rojo —que alzó la bandera roja que porta la hoz y el martillo sobre el Reichstag en Berlín—, fue un hito en la historia de los pueblos y el socialismo. Pese al asesinato de millones de personas, la inimaginable destrucción y el saqueo de países enteros, las masas populares lograron la victoria al final, mostrándonos que el capitalismo, ni siquiera en su forma más brutal —el fascismo—, no pudo aguantar la superioridad del socialismo, la determinación y la voluntad de los pueblos.

El 9 de mayo todo trabajador, todo soldado, todo partisano y todo antifascista demostró que la victoria ante el fascismo y el propio sistema del que surge —el capitalismo— era posible y siempre será posible. Alzamos nuestros puños aún más alto en honor a su lucha.

Esta gran gesta histórica no puede ser distorsionada ni mal representada por la UE, los gobiernos burgueses y sus funcionarios, ni sus miserables sermones y resoluciones anticomunistas, que buscan en vano designar el 9 de mayo como “Día de la UE” y equiparar el comunismo con el monstruo del fascismo, ni por supuesto puede ser utilizado para justificar la guerra imperialista en Ucrania o absolver a las clases burguesas implicadas en la guerra.

A pesar de los sacrificios que hicieron los pueblos en la lucha contra el nazismo, no consiguieron aplastarlo de una vez por todas. Solo en muy pocos países pudo esta lucha conducir al derrocamiento del sistema capitalista y al socialismo, con la contribución del Ejército Rojo.

Armados con la experiencia histórica, la lucha que ahora libran los partidos comunistas de la ACE en sus respectivos países es prometedora.

Vemos cómo las mismas contradicciones y rivalidades se agudizan en nuestra época, las mismas que arrastraron al mundo a la guerra imperialista que fue justa solo para la Unión Soviética y que concluyó el 9 de mayo. Continuamos por tanto la lucha hacia los mismos fines sobre los hombros de quienes estuvieron antes que nosotros.

Nuestro mundo se caracteriza por las contradicciones agudas, por una lucha aguda que crece desde la naturaleza misma del sistema capitalista. La incesante expansión de toda clase burguesa en un mundo finito nos permite vislumbrar la catástrofe que podría esperarnos y nos permite entender las guerras imperialistas que se libran ahora por la supremacía en el sistema imperialista.

Luchamos contra el nazismo y el fascismo y, para aplastarlo de una vez por todas, debemos derrocar el capitalismo del que nace. La lucha contra el fascismo no se puede separar nunca de la lucha por el socialismo.

La intensificación de las contradicciones imperialistas también impacta a la política y los gobiernos de la burguesía, donde ganan terreno fuerzas reaccionarias y abiertamente fascistas en un contexto de empobrecimiento generalizado de la clase obrera. Reconociendo que el fascismo cumplió un papel histórico específico —como respuesta brutal de la burguesía en un momento de avance de la lucha de clases—, los Partidos Comunistas deben fortalecer su trabajo dentro de los frentes de masas con el fin de construir una oposición clasista capaz de vincular la cuestión de la guerra imperialista, el fascismo y la toma del poder.

En este día, hace 81 años, el fascismo y el nazismo fueron derrotados, aunque no de manera definitiva. Esa tarea aún nos aguarda. Con las lecciones aprendidas mediante las luchas del pasado encontramos nuestro futuro. Acabaremos con lo que la victoria de hace 81 años no pudo, y quienes dieron su vida nos mostrarán el camino.

9 мая — Победа социализма над фашизмом

В этот день, 81 год назад, нацистская Германия капитулировала перед социалистическим Советским Союзом. Свершилась Победа социализма над самым бесчеловечным проявлением капитализма. Как и во все предыдущие годы, мы чтим память миллионов, отдавших свои жизни за достижение этой цели, всех тех, кто стал мучениками в антифашистской борьбе. Мы никогда не забудем.

Победа над фашизмом, достигнутая благодаря усилиям национально-освободительных движений и неоценимому вкладу Советского Союза и героической Красной Армии, поднявшей над Рейхстагом в Берлине красное знамя с серпом и молотом, является важной вехой в истории народов и социализма.
Несмотря на убийство миллионов людей, невообразимые разрушения и разграбление целых стран, народные массы в конце концов смогли одержать победу. Они показали нам превосходство социалистической системы, показали, что капитализм не может противостоять социализму, решимости и воле народа, даже если это капитализм в его самой жестокой форме — фашизм.

9 мая каждый трудящийся, каждый солдат, каждый партизан и каждый антифашист показал, что победа над фашизмом и самой системой, порождающей его - капитализмом – возможна, и что она всегда будет возможна. Мы поднимаем ввысь кулаки в честь их борьбы.

Это великое историческое событие не может быть искажено и оболгано ЕС, буржуазными правительствами и их аппаратом, а также их жалкими антикоммунистическими проповедями и резолюциями, которые тщетно пытаются объявить 9 мая так называемым «Днем ЕС» и приравнять коммунизм к чудовищу фашизма.

Также ни в коем случае нельзя использовать это событие для оправдания империалистической войны на Украине или для оправдания буржуазных классов, участвовавших в этой войне.

Несмотря на жертвы, принесённые народами в борьбе против нацизма, им не удалось разгромить его раз и навсегда. Слишком мало стран смогли благодаря этой борьбе, при участии Красной Армии, привести к свержению капитализма и установлению социализма.

Опираясь на исторический опыт, коммунистические партии в составе ЕКД в настоящее время ведут в своих странах борьбу, имеющую далеко идущие перспективы.

Мы видим, как в наше время обостряются те же противоречия и соперничество, которые втянули мир в империалистическую войну, справедливую лишь для Советского Союза и закончившуюся 9 мая.
Поэтому, опираясь на плечи тех, кто был до нас, мы продолжаем бороться за достижение тех же целей, что и они.

Наш мир характеризуется острыми противоречиями, острой борьбой, вытекающей из самой природы капиталистической системы. Бесконечное расширение буржуазного класса в ограниченном мире позволяет нам увидеть надвигающуюся катастрофу и понять причину империалистических войн, которые сейчас бушуют за превосходство в империалистической системе.

Мы боремся против нацизма и фашизма; и чтобы раз и навсегда сокрушить их, мы должны свергнуть капитализм, который их порождает. Борьба против фашизма никогда не может быть отделена от борьбы за социализм.

Усиление империалистических противоречий оказывает влияние и на буржуазную политику и правительства, где в условиях повсеместного обнищания рабочего класса реакционные и откровенно фашистские силы набирают вес.

Признавая, что фашизм сыграл особую историческую роль — как жестокий ответ буржуазии в момент нарастающей классовой борьбы, — коммунистические партии должны усилить свою работу на народных фронтах, чтобы создать классово ориентированную оппозицию, способную связать вопрос империалистической войны, фашизма и захвата власти.

В этот день, 81 год назад, фашизм и нацизм были побеждены, хотя и не окончательно. Эта задача стоит перед нами. С уроками, извлечёнными из борьбы прошлого, мы встречаем наше будущее.
Мы завершим то, что не удалось завершить победой 81 год назад, — и те, кто отдал свои жизни, укажут нам путь.
